Wedding -Dresses & Gowns - Getting Ready for the Wedding Day

Points to Remember

Remember that weddings usually involve long periods of standing about and meeting people, so your outfit should not be one that is so heavy, that you buckle at he knees with its weight. Likewise your shoes should be comfortable enough for you to be able to stand, it may be a good idea to try them out before your wedding day.

Other than your clothes, shoes and jewellery, pay special attention to your hair and make-up. Do not wait to experiment on your wedding day itself, take the trouble and the time to test your face and hairstyle earlier.

Resist the temptation to put on too much make-up. A common mistake that many brides make is putting on too much foundation or use a shade that is too light in their anxiety to look their best. Instead, they end up looking like waxworks straight out of Madame Traussads.

Lakme and Revlon have make-up for typically Indian colouring in everything from foundation to blushers to mascara, to lend some external aid to those blushing cheeks and lowered lashes. Treat yourself to a good manicure and pedicure a couple of days before the wedding, paint your nails, both fingers and toes.

Visit a good hair dresser to check out your style in advance, keeping in mind details like whether or not you are going to cover your head with your sari pallav or are going to pin your dupatta up to your hair. If you are going in for a new haircut, do so about two or three weeks before the wedding day, so that your hair has time to settle in. A variety of hair care products are available in the market today, to ensure that your hair is indeed your crowning glory.
