This leads to friction and later frustration. For a marriage to endure this problem, partners have to initiate the give and take process by putting aside egos

Different family backgrounds and sets of values result in differences. The trick of a successful marriage is in accepting each other as they are instead of trying to 'reform' each other. When you cannot see eye to eye on a particular issue, explore options to arrive at a compromise.
