Bridal Shopping - Questions to ask your Beautician

It's the time to pamper yourself with head massages, henna treatments, facials et al. Ask the beautician all there is to know. And make your Wedding Day Beautiful!

1. Does she have a pre-wedding bridal? What does this package include?

2. Would she come to your residence to carry out these treatments or would you need to visit her the parlour?

3. How many days prior to the reception should you go in for a facial, waxing and manicure?

4. How much does she charge for a total package--the sangeet, the mehndi, the cocktails, the wedding ceremony and the reception?

5. How much would she charge for individual days?

6. What cosmetics will she be using? Ensure that she uses products you have used before so that you don't develop allergy/ problems on the big day.

7. Will she give you a trial makeover. It is not a usual practise but many brides ask for it to avoid panic on the day of the ceremony. Also, it may be advisable to get it if you are working with this beautician for the first time.

8. How long does it take to do a makeover? Typically, a makeover (including dressing you up, makeup and hair) will take about one to two hours. Some will take a bit shorter or longer, depending on the look you want.

9. How long will your makeup last? Ensure that your beautician gives you a long-lasting and waterproof makeup to last the long drawn ceremonies and all the sobbing.

10. What accessories would she additionally provide? Are these included in her charges or would it be an extra cost?

11. What does she suggest by way of make-up for the season? If yours is a summer wedding, for instance, what would she recommend - a light powdery look probably, instead of the pancake look?

12. What sort of make-up should you use for the camera?

13. What size of party can you accommodate? Many beauticians will try to do too much in order to make more money, your party may suffer if she is going too fast or if she makes people sit around all morning waiting.

14. How many brides has she taken for makeover that day? If she has taken too many brides, find another beautician because you can be assured that she will not be able to give you ample attention. It would be a good idea to pay a little more but have her come to your house so that you ensure undivided attention.

15. Would she wait through the ceremony and the reception for touch-ups in case there is a problem?

16. How can you maintain that glow till your honeymoon?
